Huon Valley Mushrooms
Visit Huon Valley Mushrooms at Glen Huon in Tasmania’s south, mushroom-growing never seemed so fascinating!
The farm, by the Huon River, starts the process with a bag of compost and ends with delectable treats. It produces more than five tonnes a week of white, honey brown, oyster and shiitake mushrooms - all available at the farm shop, on weekdays.
Tours, which must be pre-arranged, include the dark, humid growing rooms with bags stacked five high and pickers on ladders. Taste the end result in the visitor centre.
