Elsewhere Vineyard
Elsewhere Vineyard overlooks the Huon River at Glazier’s Bay in Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Glaziers Bay is 50 minutes’ drive south of Hobart (70 kilometres/43 miles).
Established in 1984, Elsewhere is a 13-hectare (32 acre) vineyard producing pinot noir, chardonnay, riesling, and gewürztraminer grapes. Elsewhere’s range of wines includes their signature pinot noir, riesling, gewürztraminer and chardonnay in addition to a fine sparkling. Wines are also produced under the alternative label, Somewhere Else. You can make an appointment to tour the Vineyard, taste wines from the range, and make a selection for your own cellar.
To ensure high-quality fruit, Elsewhere Vineyard's yields are carefully managed to around six tonnes per hectare. The vineyard is dry grown and the vines are pruned and picked by hand. Elsewhere Vineyard’s still wines are crafted by acclaimed Tasmanian winemaker Andrew Hood.
Tasmania’s cool climate makes the state a prime wine-growing region. Tasmania has over 200 vineyards, producing more than 6,500 tonnes of grapes per year. The state’s long, sunny autumns create the perfect climate for growing intensely-flavoured chardonnay, pinot noir, gewürztraminer and riesling grapes.
