Hythe Gallery

The Hythe Gallery at Kingston, south of Hobart, features work by Tasmanian and Australian artists. Kingston is 15 minutes south of central Hobart (11 kilometres/seven miles).
The Hythe Gallery exhibits Tasmanian and Australian art and craft. You can browse the collection of paintings, silver, glass, ceramics, leather, textiles, toys and woodcraft or walk through one hectare (two-and-a-half acres) of delightful gardens.
From Kingston, it is a 30-minute drive (39 kilometres) to Huonville in southern Tasmania’s Huon Valley. There are a number of skilled craftspeople and artists in the Huon Valley and D’Entrecasteaux Channel area. At the Regnan’s Gallery at Peppermint Bay, near Woodbridge, you can see displays of quality Tasmanian art and craft. Visit Enchanted Woods at Castle Forbes Bay to watch a local wood turner at work, or see the craftsmanship of local potter John Martin at the Woodfired Pottery in Glen Huon.
