Bruny Island Cruises provides three hour wilderness cruises along Bruny Island’s rugged coast, southern Tasmania. This multi-award winning cruise was published by Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of top 100 greatest trips in the World in 2008. Bruny Island Cruises (previously called Bruny Island Charters) is the original and most famous of the Pennicott Wilderness Journeys.
You will cruise alongside some of Australia’s highest sea cliffs, drift up close to listen to the awesome ‘Breathing Rock’, enter sea caves, pass through the narrow gap between the coast and ‘The Monument’, a tall slender stack and feel the power of nature at the point where the Tasman Sea meets the might of the Southern Ocean.
Join the enthusiastic and informative crew in the search for the abundant coastal wildlife such as seals, dolphins, migrating whales, birds of prey, albatross and many other varieties of sea birds.

Full Day TourEscape to Bruny Island for the day, including scenic guided bus tour, ferry crossing to Bruny Island, morning tea, 3 hour wilderness cruise and lunch. You will depart Hobart at 8.00am from the Hobart & Tasmanian Visitor Information Centre (corner of Elizabeth and Davey St) for Kettering where the ferry will then leave for Bruny Island at 9.30am. When you arrive at Adventure Bay you will enjoy a morning-tea break at the idyllic beachfront café. At 11am you will depart for a full three hours exploring the Bruny Island coastline before returning to Adventure Bay for a delicious fresh lunch with time to relax on the beach and explore our souvenir shop before your return trip to Hobart. Our bus departs Adventure Bay at 3.30pm to arrive back to Hobart at 5.30pm. Operates daily all year round, except Christmas Day. Maximum of 42 passengers per boat. Not suitable for wheelchair access. Warm dress is recommended. Full length wind and water proof jackets provided. Bookings are essential. Cost $165 per Adult, $110 per child under 17 years. Three Hour Environmental Cruise TourBruny Island Cruises three hour wilderness cruise departs daily all year round from Adventure Bay, Bruny Island at 11am. To arrive at the booking office at Adventure Bay by 10.30am you will need to catch either the 07.45 or 9.30am vehicular ferry from Kettering ($25 per car for the return journey), making sure you arrive half an hour early to get your place on the ferry. Another option is for you to leave your car at Kettering and catch the Bruny Island Cruises bus service which leaves their meeting point at the Oyster Cove Marina at 9am. The bus service has the additional value of adding three more hours of guided travel experience to your day for an additional $10 per adult and $5 per child. | |
