King Island produces some of the finest beef, cheese and cream in the world. The local crayfish are superb, try sea fishing and cook up your catch for a meal; swim in protected local bays; walk the long white deserted beaches; take a sea cruise; or just do nothing.
King Island is famous for giant bull kelp, harvested each day for drying and used in cooking, cosmetics and medicines around the world. Watch the kelpers hoist in the enormous strands, explore the local town, visit the calcified forests, or one of the lighthouses, taste the famous King Island Dairy cheeses. At Lavinia Nature Reserve you can see endemic and migratory birds close at hand.
Walk around scenic Currie Harbour, visit The Boathouse Gallery and The Pepperpot Pottery.
