The River House

The River House provides self-catering and bed and breakfast accommodation at Dilston in northern Tasmania. Located on the Tamar River, the house has panoramic water views and sweeping gardens.
With a spacious interior, River House offers a range of accommodation styles. There are two traditional bed and breakfast rooms, a self-catering studio room and a one-bedroom apartment. The fully-equipped apartment can sleep up to four guests. All accommodation options have queen-size beds and en suites which include double showers and/or spa baths. Breakfast provisions are supplied for the studio and apartment accommodation. Breakfast provisions are supplied for the Apartment while fully cooked, gourmet breakfasts are prepared for guests in the Bed and Breakfast and Studio rooms. Computer access, broadband and laundry facilities are also available.
Relax in the tranquil guest lounge with homemade tasty delights, a cosy wood fire and captivating views. Wander the two hectares (five acres) of mature gardens and Australian bush, or take a dip in the heated swimming pool after a leisurely game of tennis. Drive into central Launceston to enjoy evening dining and wander through the picturesque Cataract Gorge. Visit the cool climate Tamar Valley wineries and stop by the Bridestowe Lavender Farm.
Dilston is about 12-minutes’ drive from central Launceston (16 kilometres/10 miles).
