The Old Bakery Inn provides heritage accommodation in the heart of Launceston, Tasmania. The beautifully restored inn, once a Georgian-style bakery, has the charm of a bygone era.
There are two main styles of rooms at the Old Bakery, queen and executive rooms. There are also a small number of family and self-contained rooms. Each room is appointed with a queen-size bed, mini bar and television. There is a guest laundry available and a spacious garden area with barbecue facility. Each room has individual character and is decorated in a unique manner. There is also special accommodation including The Loft, a self-contained suite ideal for families, and The Stables. Converted into accommodation, horses once set out from The Stables to deliver the bakery’s loaves.
Wander into the centre of Launceston city or pack a picnic to enjoy in one of the lush city parks. Visit the Cataract Gorge and take a chairlift ride over the rushing water below. Spoil yourself with a visit to the Aquarius Roman Baths and later dine in one of the many award-winning restaurants. Take a drive down the Tamar Valley along the wine route or simply relax in the comfort of your heritage room.
