Ashton Gate Guest House
Ashton Gate Guest House offers historic bed and breakfast accommodation in Launceston, northern Tasmania. Built in 1880, the house is decorated in period style and surrounded by a delightful rose garden.
There are seven well-appointed en suite rooms in the house and a self-contained cottage. Rooms are appointed with king-size, queen-size, double and twin single beds. There is a deluxe spa suite, one room has a separate bedroom and several have comfortable armchairs within the room. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting room with day bed ensemble and fold-out single sofa bed as well as a separate queen bedroom. There is a generous living space exuding provincial style. The house and cottage overlook a lovely green park filled with oak trees.
After a hearty cooked breakfast in the stately breakfast room, a short walk takes you to the city centre where you can visit museums, art galleries and the magnificent Cataract Gorge. Enjoy a cruise on the stately Tamar River and take a short drive out to the cool-climate wineries of the Tamar Valley. Return to the comfort of Ashton Gate’s guest lounge and cosy log fire or enjoy a pre-dinner drink on the outside deck.
