The Pilot Station Accommodation is situated in the Low Head Heritage estate near George Town, Tasmania.
Choose from three or four bedroom cottage accommodation, each containing a fully-equipped kitchen. The three bedroom cottages have a queen and two double rooms, accommodating up to six guests and the four bedroom cottage is suitable for eight with beautiful water views. The accommodation offers an ideal base for touring the coast, wineries, berry farms and craft shops in the peaceful Tamar Valley. You are close to the Tamar Valley Wine Route and Bridestowe Lavender Farm as well.
The Pilot Station is Australia’s oldest, established in 1835, and is still operating as a base for the port of Launceston pilots. The buildings date from 1835 and house the Maritime Museum, open daily from 8am to 8pm, Archive/Research Complex, boat crew quarters and visitor accommodation. Take a guided tour of the penguin colony or a boat trip to see the seal colonies on the Bass Strait islands. There are good restaurants, cafes and shops in George Town, a few kilometres away.
The Pilot Station accommodation is approximately 45-minutes drive (58 kilometres/36 miles) from Launceston.
