Grey Sands Vineyard
Grey Sands Vineyard overlooks the Tamar Valley at Glengarry, northern Tasmania.
Established in 1989, Grey Sands is a family-owned vineyard specialising in intensely flavoured wines, suitable for cellaring.
The unirrigated, 2.5-hectare vineyard (six acres) produces close-planted vines of pinot gris, pinot noir and merlot (8,800 vines per hectare). You can visit the cellar door by appointment, or at advertised times. Sample fine Tasmanian wine while enjoying views of the valley, or explore the gardens before taking home a few bottles of your favourite vintage.
The Tamar Valley produces around 40 per cent of Tasmania’s wines. You can follow the Tamar Valley Wine Route and visit small, boutique vineyards and state-of-the-art wineries to taste Tasmania’s world-class, cool climate wines.
Glengarry is a 30-minute drive northwest of Launceston (37 kilometres/23 miles), on the B71, Frankford Highway.
