11 Days Franklin River and Frenchmans Cap

This 11-day tour adds a challenging hike to the end of the Franklin River rafting expedition. You will complete a steep ascent from the river to the quartzite dome of Frenchman's Cap (1443 metres/4700 feet). Franklin River rafting is an opportunity to experience one of the world's last major wild rivers. The river forges its course through the rugged southwest of Tasmania, via unspoilt wilderness. Protected as World Heritage Area, the river flows through deep gorges, quiet pools and temperate rainforest. The Franklin River is well known for its moods and changes as it runs. Fluctuating water levels and superb rapids are handled carefully by highly experienced rafting guides. While any rafting descent of the Franklin River is challenging, it is not necessary to have previous rafting experience. A sound level of fitness is essential as the tour can be physical demanding. At the end of each day, enjoy comfortable camping areas and delicious meals prepared for you. Relax as part of a small crew as you explore the remote wilderness of southwest Tasmania. At the pinnacle of Frenchman's Cap, enjoy panoramic views over the entire South West National Park.

    13 Days Tasmanian Panorama

Spectacular mountains, rolling farmlands and wild rivers await you in this panorama tour of Tasmania. In 13 days you will walk and cycle to some of Tasmania's finest destinations. From the Cradle Mountain region, the tour swings east toward the coast before heading to Hobart. Your tour begins with two days bushwalking, easy to moderate walks in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. The first trip is across button grass plains and alpine herb meadows to the silent waters of Dove Lake. If weather permits, the summit of Cradle Mountain is achievable. The following four days are spent in the Walls of Jerusalem, a region of towering rock walls and spectacular mountain peaks. Native pencil pines, waratah and lemon scented boronia open the senses to some of Tasmania's beautiful flora. From this point it is cycling for the remainder of the tour. Taking the scenic route from Launceston to Coles Bay, enjoy rolling pastures and magnificent coastal views. You will spend a night at Maria Island National Park before making your way to Hobart via the historic town of Richmond. Great food and refreshing variety ensure this tour offers the very best of Tasmania.

16 Days Port Davey and South Coast Track

This epic 16-day walk follows the Port Davey and South Coast Tracks into World Heritage Area. The expedition provides you with some of Tasmania's most rugged scenic beauty. Starting out at Scott's Peak Dam at the southern end of Lake Pedder you head south traversing beneath the Arthur Range towards the Lost World Plateau. Following the Spring River south you will make your way leisurely to Melaleuca. Extra time allowance is incorporated for side trips as well as safety for poor weather and river crossings. Fully rested and resupplied you will head south on the South Coast track. The next nine days is spent crossing mountain ranges and walking the deserted beaches. As with the South Coast Track, you finish this epic expedition at the remote southern outpost of Cockle Creek. This trip will only be offered as an extension to those participating in the South Coast Track expedition.

Eight Days Cradle Mountain Overland Track

The Overland Track between Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair is one of the world's best extended walks. National and international walkers are attracted to this magnificent area to experience the grandeur of its mountain ranges, the beauty of its unique vegetation and the pure solitude of wilderness. The 65 kilometre walk can normally be completed in five days, but this tour allows seven to ensure you have the chance to visit special points of interest along the way. Your schedule will permit time to visit the summit of some of the highest mountains in the state, possibly even Mount Ossa, the highest of all. Since groups are restricted to a maximum of 10 people, a real sense of group identity develops, making this wilderness experience one that will be truly memorable for you.

    Five Days Frenchman's Cap Trek

This trek to Frenchman's Cap is the chance to visit one of Tasmania's most spectacular peaks. Frenchman's Cap, rising 1443 metres (4700 feet), towers over the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. The route is a 50 kilometre (31.06 mile) circuit starting at the Lyell Highway before crossing the Franklin River. You will walk to Lake Tahune, a lovely round tarn directly below Frenchman's Cap, through button grass plains and alpine terrain. Heading towards the peak, you will notice its white quartzite cap which gives the impression of permanent snow and the look of a traditional Frenchman's cap. From the summit, your panoramic views back towards Cradle Moutain-Lake St Clair National Park and the West Coast will be worth your trekking. At this point, the circuit will head back to the Lyell Highway ready for your awaiting bus on day five.

Half Day or One Day Rock Climbing Tour

Experience the challenge of abseiling and rock climbing in Launceston's Cataract Gorge. Just minutes from the city centre, the gorge offers a dramatic yet safe environment for half and full day tours. Dolerite columns make up the higher reaches of most of Tasmania's peaks and are ideal for rock climbing. Within the gorge there are over 200 short climbs ranging in difficulty to suit first timers through to avid rock-climbers. It is the ideal arena for climbing under the watchful eye of experienced guides. Customised tours for individuals and groups are also available on request.

    Nine Days Franklin River Rafting

    Nine Days South Coast Track

The South Coast Track lies within the Southwest National Park and offers a wild, magnificent journey. This tour takes you from Melaleuca in Tasmania's southwest corner to Cockle Creek on the edge of the settled southeast. The track is approximately 80 kilometres long. You pass through stands of temperate rainforest, along many golden beaches, over coastal ranges and beside quiet lagoons. The flight into Maleleuca is an added bonus enabling you, on a clear day, to see all of what makes southwest Tasmania so special. By allowing nine days for the trip you have ample time to appreciate the special points of interest along the way. Our schedule includes one complete rest day and four half-days to spend on side trips, fishing, swimming or just relaxing around the camp. A highlight of the trip is the sense of group identity that develops during the nine days together with a small group and virtually no outside contact.

The Bay of Fires lies on the edge of the Mount William National Park, an area of unsurpassed wilderness.
