Tasmania Zoo offers trout fishing and wildlife tours near Launceston, Tasmania.
The five lakes are located 20 minutes’ drive from Launceston, northern Tasmania’s major city. Surrounded by natural bush land, the lakes have a total shoreline of more than five kilometres (3.1 miles). Launceston Lakes in northern Tasmania provides private fly fishing for trout and tuition in angling. They are well-stocked with brown and rainbow trout, with fish up to trophy size of six kilograms (13.2 pounds) and more. Only fly fishing is permitted and no fishing licence is required. There are barbecue and picnic facilities, a play area for children and a shop on the site. Tasmania Zoo's Night Safari Tour offers a spotlight drive to observe the abundant native wildlife.
Attractions in the wider region include the cultural scene and restaurants of Launceston, the Tamar Valley Wine Route, Seahorse World and the Platypus House at Beauty Point. In the area you can also visit the historic lighthouse, pilot station and maritime museum at Low Head and the wildlife and beach walks at Narawntapu National Park.

Devils Heaven Night Safari TourDevils Heaven Night Safari Tour is a spotlight drive to observe abundant Tasmanian native wildlife. Devils Heaven is a wildlife park at Launceston Lakes, near the city of Launceston in northern Tasmania. The Night Safari Tour in a four-wheel-drive vehicle follows tracks through the expansive bush land surrounding Launceston Lakes. Using a hand-controlled spotlight, the driver is able to pinpoint the rich abundance of nocturnal native animals so that they can be observed at close quarters. Guests on the tour are likely to see Bennetts wallabies, pademelons (a small wallaby), possums and wombats. There is a chance of also spotting quolls and perhaps Tasmanian devils. The knowledgeable local guide provides an informative commentary during the tour. Launceston Lakes Trout Fishing TourThis private facility has over five kilometres (3.1 miles) of meandering shoreline with five trout filled lakes. It is set in amongst 365 hectares (147 acres) of native bush, and is just 20-minutes' drive from the city. Local restaurants are available to cook your fish or you can use the barbecues or bring your lunch. Tea and coffee is available. Tailing brown trout and rainbows search the shorelines in the mornings and evenings.
