Swan Island Retreat
Swan Island Retreat provides self-contained accommodation just a 15-minute flight from Tasmania’s north-east coast. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life on this spectacular island getaway.
The historic self-contained cottage can accommodate up to six guests or can be divided into two separate apartments. There are two queen bedrooms appointed with mahogany and teak timber beds and a third bedroom with three single beds. It retains the charm of its’ former days as one of the original light-keeper’s cottages. There is a well-equipped kitchen and spacious living area. The cottage is powered by solar and wind-generated electricity and water is supplied by way of gravity-fed water tanks.
Curl up in the sunny reading room with lighthouse views or relax on the north-facing deck, ideal for alfresco barbecues. Enjoy being within walking distance from eight private beaches. You can go for historic walks, enjoy fishing and even take private art classes with a professional artist. Extra charges apply for these classes. Watch penguins make their way up the beach or go swimming and snorkelling. The airstrip is suitable for light planes and fully catered stays are available.
Please note: All rates are exclusive of return airfare from Bridport airfield.
Swan Island is approximately three kilometres/1.8 miles from the north-east coast of Tasmania.
