The gravel roads over much of this remote corner tend to deter all but the locals, but the slower travel gives you a chance to spot the abundant wildlife. Keep a look out especially along the quiet roads in Mount William National Park, where wallabies, kangaroos, wombats and pademelons graze peacefully.
