Salty Seas
Salty Seas seafood outlet is ideally situated in St Helens on Tasmania’s sunny east coast. It is ideally located 300 metres west of Fisherman’s Wharf. The facility hosts commercial quantities of live fish including southern rock lobster in an aquarium which is open for public viewing daily, free of charge so bring your camera with you.
Al products are seasonally available and the fish, oysters, mussels and lobsters are processed on site daily. You can select a fish from the tanks and have it processed while you wait or select a lobster and take it home alive or allow an hour for it to be cooked for you, or simply drop in and learn more about our local commercial fish species and industries.
Cold lobster platters are available from December until April and can be enjoyed on the deck overlooking Medea Cove bird sanctuary, home to a variety of shoreline bird species.
Fish filleted on site with potatoes harvested from the local Anchor Organics farm cut on site come together to perfect a truly local fresh fish and chips.
With plenty of parking and friendly experienced fish handlers salty Seas is a must see for seafood enthusiasts.
