Gone Fishing Charters is a fishing charter operation based on the east coast of Tasmania.
The beautiful estuary system is not only scenic but the pristine waters support a huge array of fish which are some of the largest in the southern part of Australia.
Bream are the most sought-after estuary and river fish, high in numbers and size. It is a great sport fish and a real fighter, especially when using fly and lures. Bream are good to eat with fine white flesh. Bream grow to a size of four kilograms (8.8 pounds) but mainly average out at around the one to two kilogram range.
Although bream fishing is a real passion of your fishing guide, there are many other species that will be targeted during your charter. These include: garfish squid, Australian salmon, flathead, taylor, trevally, kingfish and sweep.
The Australian salmon is one of the great sport fish in the area. On a fly they are amazing to watch and even better to catch.
Gone Fishing Charters are located at St Helens, about 2 hours’ drive (170 kilometres/105 miles) from Launceston.

    Gone Fishing Charters specialises in estuary and bay fishing on Tasmania's beautiful east coast. Species include bream, salmon, garfish, flathead, mullet and squid. The speciality is big bream. Trout fishing is also well catered for with private access to pristine trout waters. Techniques include lures, flies and bait. A specialised boat is utilised with a purpose built 5.2 metre tri-hull which is incredibly stable and quiet with a four stroke motor. Learn more about the fine sport of fishing and widen your horizons to include the east coast of Tasmania in your next fishing adventure. A new vessel can cater for a maximum of five anglers at St Helens on Tasmania's tranquil east coast.
