At The Corner
At The Corner is a National Trust-listed home offering bed and breakfast accommodation. The Queen Anne, Federation-style property is located at Smithton, 86 kilometres west of Burnie, on Tasmania’s far northwest coast.
At The Corner guests have a spacious, self-contained private suite with one queen and one twin bedroom. The dining room and living area have huge bay windows looking out to the established garden. There is a modern, well-equipped bathroom with a large shower and claw-foot bath. Generous continental breakfast provisions are also included, and the suite has a fridge and microwave. At The Corner is owner-operated.
Smithton is the last major township on Tasmania's remote northwest coast. Discovered by explorers Matthew Flinders and George Bass in 1798, it was the first settlement of the far northwest. From Smithton, you can take a scenic flight or off-road wilderness tour. Travel to nearby Stanley and take a cruise, see native wildlife and enjoy spectacular coastal scenery at the Nut. Other attractions in the area include cruises on the Arthur River, the historic Woolnorth property at Montagu and the Tarkine Wilderness.
