Arthur River is a town unlike any other in Australia: it sits at the mouth of Tasmania's last wild river, and nearby is the Tarkine, one of the world’s last remaining tracts of temperate rainforest. This coastline receives the full force of the Roaring Forty winds that drive the Southern Ocean. The wild Ocean currents and the River’s flow create a “washing machine” effect and ancient logs line the rugged beaches. Nearby is the Edge of the World monument named by early explorers.
