Edge of the World Locations is based in Stanley on Tasmania’s beautiful north west coast. The company offers a guided luxury four wheel drive touring experience that explores the heart of the Tarkine Wilderness, the breathtaking Rocky Cape National Park, the surrounding hinterland countryside of Stanley, and the wild and rugged West Coast and Cradle Mountain regions of Tasmania.
Our tours allow visitors to engage with landscapes where nature simply astounds- prehistoric forests, wild untouched beaches, abundant wildlife and our islands rich and colourful Colonial & Tasmania Aboriginal history.
We choose to indulge our clients with the very best of Tasmania produce on our tours that include lunch and dinner experiences. Dine with the Devils @ Church Rock TourThe Edge of the World and Tasmania's rugged west coast is the back drop to this unique nature based touring experience. See Tasmanian Devils in the wild, wombats, wallabies, bandicoots, and quolls along with a host of other Tasmania native animals on a private nature reserve with the great southern ocean at its doorstep. Your tour departs at 3.30 pm from Stanley and returns at 11 pm. We travel via the hinterland farming communities Forest and Nabagena our destination for the first stop on this tour is Trowutta, where we visit the breathtaking Trowutta Arch and sink hole. From this location we head west to the Edge of the World, where the coast and the great southern ocean collide in a spectacular display at the mouth of the Arthur River. We move onto the home of Tasmanian devil expert Geoff King who will share a fascinating tour of his property King's Run. We will learn the history of Geoff's family cattle business, see wildlife in its natural surrounds, before we dine from the barbecue on fresh seafood and grass feed beef, washed down with Tasmanian Wine and beverages while watching the Devils at Kings Run feed in their natural habitat. Half Day Touring ExperienceStanley Village offers many attractions and is steeped in history from the early 1800's. Half day tours can be customized to suit guests' interests. If you choose to begin your tour in Stanley then some suggestions include visiting Highfield Historic Site, the fascinating Stanley Cemetery, and perhaps a trip up the Nut on foot or by Chairlift. We then suggest either a tour east to Rocky Cape National Park, returning to Stanley via Dip Falls, “The Big Tree”, Black River, South Forest and East Inlet. Alternatively we can tour west to see the Wind Farm, visit the Edge of the World and the Wild West coast beaches at Marrawah. Your tour includes light refreshments for morning/afternoon tea. The Tarkine Wilderness and Edge of the World Full Day TourOperating year round from Stanley your full day wilderness tour departs at 8.30 am and returns at 5.00 pm. Experience the raw beauty of the Tarkine Wilderness, a living remnant of the Gondwanaland period in Tasmania's history some 70 million years ago. Explore the largest cool climate rainforest in the southern hemisphere and the rugged coastline scenery of the West Coast carved over thousands of years by the majestic and awesome power of the great Southern Ocean. Enjoy a gourmet barbeque lunch and refreshments in the forest. (Fresh Crayfish and seafood can be arranged in season). Engage your imagination as you stand at the "Edge of The World", (a point on the Wild West coast) where the southern ocean rolls onto the island from the shores of Patagonia 22,000 kilometers away.
