Penghana superior boutique bed and breakfast provides accommodation in Queenstown, on Tasmania’s West Coast.
Penghana is a gracious National Trust mansion circa 1898. The spacious master suite features a queen size bed and spectacular views of Mt. Owen. The three other large bedrooms feature queen size beds, ensuites and antique furnishings. The Jukes guest wing features two rooms with a share bathroom that is ideal for family groups and can accommodate five people.
Built in 1898, for over 100 years Penghana was home to the general managers of the Mount Lyell Mining & Railway Company and is represented with historic photographs, antique furniture and mine memorabilia. Penghana overlooks Queenstown and is surrounded by rainforest. The original stained glass front entrance, beautiful black wood staircase, open fires and spacious rooms are all reminders of its significant past. Enjoy a fine dinner in a stately dining room, a private guest lounge, a game of billiards or a complimentary glass of port. Breakfasts are included in the tariff and evening meals are available all year by arrangement.
Queenstown is a two hour and 6 minute drive (152 Kilometre / 95 Mile) south west of Burnie.
