Strahan Central offers luxury suite accommodation in central Strahan on Tasmania’s west coast. Strahan is Tasmania’s major west coast town, a four-and-a-half hour drive from Hobart.
Strahan Central has a choice of three, split level suites. The two deluxe suites feature a sunken living area with open fireplace and sofa. Facilities include a dining setting and entertainment centre with a CD player, television and VCR. The queen-size bed is located on the upper level of the suite, and the ensuite bathroom has a double bath. The standard suite also features a raised, queen-size sleeping area and ensuite with double bath. The living area has comfortable wing chairs, dining setting, and entertainment centre.
All suites have views of Macquarie Harbour and the wharf area. There are limited kitchen facilities in the rooms and complimentary continental breakfast provisions are supplied. Strahan Central also has a gallery, café and licensed restaurant.
From Strahan, you can cruise Macquarie Harbour and the Gordon River or take a seaplane flight over World Heritage Area wilderness. Browse the shops for Huon pine artefacts. Go sailing or sea kayaking. Ride a steam train through the mountainous west-coast terrain, or visit Sarah Island, Tasmania’s first penal settlement.
