Stratford on the River Tourist Park is a small, peaceful, family run Top Tourist caravan park situated 2½ - 3 hours from Melbourne at the beginning of the Gippsland Lakes region.
As a starting point to visit the 'Lakes', investigate the nearby Victorian alpine high country or even just as a convenient stop off on the way to or from Melbourne, the Perrett family welcome all visitors to their award winning park, which offers a range of accommodation to suit all budgets, including large shaded powered sites (some drive through) and camping areas, and budget through to 3 new superior 2 bedroom cabins.
The park is pet friendly and surrounded by approximately 4 acres of well maintained gardens and park-like grounds sited on the banks of the Avon River, which provides for pleasant walks and restful views.
The amenities are immaculately clean and are enhanced by a well appointed camp-kitchen complete with television, microwave, fridge and a potbelly stove that adds warmth in the cooler evenings and laundry facilities.
The undercover barbecue and eating area together with a number of open fireplaces make wonderful meeting areas and a small playground for younger children is sited close at hand. Picnic tables are readily available for campers to enjoy a meal and socialize while keeping an eye on children at play. For the marginally more energetic, Apex Park is a short walk away and offers an array of play equipment, small maze and BMX track. Visitors may also access the adjoining council swimming pool when open.
We are just a 5 minute stroll from the centre of town, offering the delights of the local bakery and a number of other dining choices, various antique and gift shops including exotic Turkish Magic, and of course Molly s Lolly shop for those sweet of tooth!
