Waratah Hills Vineyard
Waratah Hills Vineyard is a family-run boutique vineyard in the hills behind the renowned Waratah Bay, South Gippsland and near the beach resorts of Sandy Point and Venus Bay.
Located seven kilometres from Fish Creek, on the Fish Creek-Yanakie Road, the vineyard faces north-east in a beautiful domed valley, formed by the Hoddle Creek.
The vineyard was planted in 1995 with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot varieties in the Burgundy style of low trellising and close planting.
The stylish cellar door was opened in November 2005 and extended in October 2006, with a stunning enclosed terrace, to meet the demands of the large number of visitors.
Wines available at the cellar door include the stand-out Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Rose, Cabernet/Merlot and in 2007, a sparkling wine will be released. Light snacks are offered at the cellar door and a small range of local produce is available, including olive oil from Golden Creek Olives of Fish Creek, herbs from Prom Country Bushfoods, honey from Hasson's of Mirboo North, and delicious home-cooked biscuits from Terry's Biscuits, Bena.
Tour groups and functions also cater for in our recently extended terrace room with stunning views over the Hoddle ranges.
