Powerworks
Join us on our special PowerWorks tours of working brown coal mines and power stations. Whilst in the mine, you will gain an understanding of the sheer size and scale of mining. Boilers, turbines, generators and all of the ancillary equipment are on full display while you walk through an operating power station. Learn about Clean Coal Technologies and how the power industry is reducing greenhouse gases. Tour duration is generally two hours and is conducted at 11am weekdays. Schools and Groups are welcome by appointment.
No need to book, just arrive a little earlier than these times to browse through our centre and enjoy the many varied and interesting interactive models and information displays.
Dale Simmons, Powerworks Teacher and Education Officer is also available for in-school education workshops at no charge.
