National Dollhouse Gallery
National Dollhouse Gallery, an Art & Craft gallery, has opened in Swan Reach, Victoria featuring handcrafted dollhouses, furniture and thousands of tiny treasures.
Desma & Peter Payne chose the old Rosewood Pottery Gallery for this new venture. This Gallery is an extension of their business in Mornington Victoria (House of Miniatures).
The property is located on 3/4 acres and the building is situation on a leafy environment and comprises three round houses (YURTS) giving a natural framework for the attraction. The retail gallery features over 30 dollhouses, miniature furniture & accessories. Many of the products have been made by very skilled miniaturists here in Australia as well as from USA, UK and Europe.
The second YURT is the Dollhouse Museum & Exhibition area. Featuring furniture & dollhouses dating back as early as 1890s and early 1900s also featuring works by gifted miniaturists.
The third building is our workshop area, where you can work on building your own dream dollhouse, fit it out completely with electricity and enjoy decorating it in the era of your choice. Other workshops include Visiting Tutors who will guide us through doll making, and other miniature projects such as making 3D gifts.
We just want everyone who comes to enjoy this "beautiful wonderland". It's a fascinating hobby and we look forward to sharing it with everyone who visits. Group bookings are available. So why not just pack a picnic and head on up to Swanny and enjoy this tranquil setting.
Plans are underway for tearooms to be opened in the complex by mid year.
Entry Fee: $2 per children free.
