Cape Otway OceanLodge
Cape Otway OceanLodge is custom built on environmentally friendly principles, relying on solar & wind generated electricity, to accommodate groups including large families, special interest clubs, bushwalkers & schools. Comfortable, modern facilities include a large wood fire, BBQ, & spacious central courtyard.
The u-shaped building contains 2 separate wings with a mix of bunk style & double rooms. The large courtyard has tables & chairs surrounded by verandahs. Each wing of the building has its own toilet & shower facilities. Groups may elect to have sole occupancy of the complex for the duration of their stay.
The recreation room has a pool table, large wood heater, games & a comprehensive library of books. A TV & video library are provided with a large range of videos to choose from.
The large modern kitchen is well equipped with hot plates, oven, two fridges & all necessities.
Staff rooms with two double bedrooms & smaller bunk-style accommodation with disabled toilets are available.
Kangaroos, koalas, possums & bird life are abundant. Discover native vegetation like the Sheoak, Manna Gums, Myrtle Wattle & Banksia. Walking tracks, waterfalls & glow-worms are all found in the area. Visit between June & August & you might witness the mighty Southern Right or Humpback whales migrating.
Nearby, the Cape Otway Lightstation is open daily for inspection. With its historic cottages & telegraph station the lighthouse is one of the Great ocean Road's major tourist attractions. Learn about the many shipwrecks all along the coast, walk to Parker River where lighthouse supply boats once unloaded their precious cargo. Walk to majestic Rainbow Falls where the waters tumble down a sheer cliff face to the ocean.
