Tower Hill State Reserve
Tower Hill State Game Reserve sits inside an extinct volcano and is a haven for wildlife and water birds. There are over 200 kangaroos and koalas in this tiny crater-bound eco system, many living around the visitor car park, as well as kangaroos, emus, echidnas and wallabies and water birds. Boardwalks, nesting boxes and a bird hide have been constructed to assist bird watchers. Visit Tower Hill’s Natural History Centre to experience the history and evolution of Tower Hill. Learn about its revegetation to provide habitats for native animals after being cleared for grazing by European settlers. This information service, along with the sale of locally produced authentic aboriginal products, is operated by Worn Gundidj Aboriginal Co-operative.
