Rundell's Mahogany Trail Rides
Rundell's Mahogany Trail Rides offers excellent horses for all riding abilities, including ponies up to big Clydesdale crosses with experienced and friendly guides.
Rides are suitable for nervous beginners or experienced horse people with many people returning time and again for regular riding. A great activity for all the family!
Rides begin on the outskirts of Warrnambool and after initial instruction, participants ride across Kelly's swamp, along the Mahogany trail, over the sand dunes and then along a beautiful stretch of beach. Enjoy one of the few remaining beaches in Australia where you can ride a horse.
A second business is available at Portland, 100 kilometres away, where trail rides operate through the Cobboboonee State Forest. More advanced riders are able to jump logs while riding along forest tracks. A "mountain cattleman" type hut is also available for riders to camp at though some conditions apply.
School groups are catered for with special rates. School group trail rides usually commence with a half hour lesson to teach the basics prior to going out on the trail. Suitable for PE, camps, outdoor education courses and sports programs.Beach trail rides are available for 1.5 or 2 hours at Warrnambool. Rides available every day of the year except Christmas and Boxing Day. Day rides for groups via the beach to the Killarney Picnic grounds. Lessons are available and are structured into levels and include some horse knowledge as well as riding.
