Established in 1981 Doug Groom (winemaker) makes each vintage a special one with minimal intervention allowing the wine to show its natural merits.
To visit Avalon is to experience great wines and picturesque views of Mt Buffalo surrounded by undulating hills of the Valley.
Avalon celebrates three events throughout the year. On Anzac Weekend, the 'End of Harvest Fiesta' is held at the one location situated in the King Valley where food and wine producers get together to commemorate the end of their harvest.
Queen's Birthday Weekend is 'A Weekend Fit for a King' where each cellar door holds its own unique event. It is the tradition at Avalon during this weekend to release their award winning Shiraz.Renowned King River Cafe chef, Ben Bonwick, joins the team at Avalon cooking hot and spicy foods that perfectly match the wines and entertainment.
The third weekend in November is 'La Dolce Vita'. Avalon celebrates the 'sweet life' with the release of Spanish variety, Rosado. Chef Ben Bonwick produces paella to match the infectious Mediterranean atmosphere.
