"This small estate on the road to the snowfields is an unfussy, friendly winery specialising in very flavoursome, well-made wine produced from low-yielding vines. The regular passing visitor shrewdly stocks up regularly here on well-priced wines, on the way to and from weekenders in the area. It is cool climate viticulture, but the wines are unexpectedly robust with an attractive European accent. The Shiraz is a regional highpoint. Ralph Kyte-Powell
