Tinkers Hill Vineyard Cellar Door
We welcome you to Tinkers Hill, a family owned vineyard and cellar door operated by James and Rhonda Taylor. You will find us nestled in the heart of the Woolshed Valley in Beechworth surrounded by the ruggedly beautiful Chiltern - Mt Pilot National Park.
The family also owns a second vineyard in nearby Markwood where James and Rhonda's daughter Kristy, and husband Peter grow and produce the Cirko V range of wines. The combined wine ranges offer the visitor to the cellar door a special treat for the pallet.
Tinkers Hill vines grow in lean, mineral rich decomposed granite soils whereas Cirko V vines are grown in deep fertile riverbed flats. This results in two different and exciting wine ranges. All vines are pruned to produce low yields ensuring full flavoured fruit, then handpicked and fermented on natural yeast using traditional winemaking methods.
Finally the wines are left to mature in French oak barrels. Whilst enjoying our wines you can relax inside the beautiful stone walled Cellar Door, sit by the cosy potbelly stove on cold days or under the shady veranda on warmer days. Enjoy our wines and stay as long as you like in this peaceful valley.
Partake of a platter of local gourmet foods that complement our wines or bring your own picnic, barbeque facilities are available. Then play a game of bocce on our regulation size court.
During your visit you may like to take a walk to the spectacular Woolshed Falls nearby or learn about the historic sites of the Kelly Gang and the goldfields that are within viewing distance of the cellar door. Our venue is also available for small functions.
