Merricks General Store
Built in 1924, the Merricks General Store has a rich history as a meeting place for locals and travellers alike. Lovingly refurbished in 2005 in consultation with Heritage Victoria, the store has once again come to life in celebration of its 80 year history. Our fabulous caf /restaurant offers a contemporary seasonal menu with a touch of city sophistication and is already renowned for innovative takes on classic dishes complemented by our select range of Rigel wines.
The store boasts a wonderful open-plan room suitable for special functions including the Store s monthly Jazz and Shiraz or Reds Whites and Blues night with the best in live jazz and blues on the last Saturday of every month. Also the increased demand for weddings and celebrations is a true testament to the quality of our food, wine and most importantly, our service.
If you want somewhere different for your Wedding Reception then come to Merricks General Store. We can offer you fantastic food, affordable beverage packages and assist you with all your wedding requirements.
We can organise transport, decorations, accommodation, entertainment and anything else you may require for your private party.
For the wine lover, the store is also home to Rigel Wines featuring award-winning pinot noir, chardonnay and shiraz from our local Shoreham vineyard as well as a wide range of varieties from our vineyard in southern NSW, including our sensational Sparkling Zinfandel.
Rigel (Rye-jel) described in Mythology as the bringer of good fortune and great lasting moments is the brightest Star in the Orion Constellation.
