Toolangi Tavern
A new tavern situated on the very edge of the Toolangi State Forest. A menu that changes regularly with an average main meal around $20, and drinks at usual bar prices.
A great undercover all weather viewing deck offering unparallel scenery with comfortable seating, perfect for a meal or just a break from whatever you are doing. Great coffee, old fashioned milk shakes, great ice creams and cakes.
Just 1 1/2 hours from Melbourne's CBD via the Yarra Valley. Holding a general licence means that calling in for just a few refreshing drinks is O.K. A blazing open fire greets you on chilly days.
Attached to the tavern is a delightful general store offering take away food, soft drinks, a packaged liquor service, tourist advice, and much more. Sit in Michelle's garden and watch the rosellas and parrots, and listen to the birds as you munch into a famous Toolangi Burger.
Toolangi offers everything that the Dandenong ranges has to offer; only we do it better. Toolangi is one of Melbourne's best kept secrets, and the tavern is at the front door of the magnificent Toolangi State forest.
Toolangi is also the home of the late C.J.Dennis, and features in many of his works. Toolangi, a great destination for those who just wish to go for a drive for a couple of hours for no reason in particular.
Most forest activities are self guided. A ranger can be made available to guide groups of up to 10 for from $75 per hour, booking in advance is essential if a ranger guide is required.
