Riverside Sanctuary
Riverside Sanctuary is just 110 kilometres north of Geraldton and 80 kilometres east of Kalbarri on a beautiful and protected section of the Murchison River. An operational farming property, much time has been invested into rehabilitating and protecting the natural landscape to create a holiday experience that is peaceful and unique.
With a range of inspiring guided tours that can be tailored to your interests and various farm stay options, Riverside Sanctuary can cater for everybody.
A number of quality self-contained accommodation options are available. The houses have full cooking facilities and can sleep between three and ten people. Campsites with access to ablution facilities are also available.
A diverse range of guided tours operate regularly, including broad acre day land farming on a working property, spectacular wildflowers and bushland, native fauna, mining heritage, indigenous history and the peaceful section of a protected river with its many waterbirds.
There are also plenty of other activities to keep you busy including self-guided bushwalking trails, astronomy in the uninhibited night sky, helping with herbarium collections, and barbecues in the shearing shed.

Donkey Hills HouseDonkey Hills House is a three bedroom house located three and a half kilometres from the main homestead. The bedding arrangements are two queen size beds, one trio bed and two single beds (bunks). The facilities include air-conditioning, full kitchen, laundry, television, VCR/DVD, pot belly stove and scenic views. A special spot with views down to the main homestead and river, and a short stroll to the Donkey Hills lookout. Linen, bedding and towels are provided. Nanna's HouseNanna's House is a three bedroom accommodation, plus sleep out, located at the main homestead. It has been freshly renovated in bright colours. The facilities include your own private bathroom, television, video recorder, ducted air conditioning, laundry and full cooking facilities. It is a ten minute walk from the Murchison River and close to the Shearing Shed barbecue area. Shearer's Quarters Budget RoomsThe rooms are clean, basic sleeping accommodation and can sleep four to five people per room. They have been recently re-painted and have fly screens and pedestal fans. Guests have access to the shared shed camping area kitchen about 80 metres away, and two showers and two toilets adjacent to the rooms. The shearing shed camp kitchen has a fridge, sink, gas barbecue, electric stove, urn and toaster, ceiling fans, pot belly stove, a large deck area, tables and chairs, crockery and cutlery and rainwater supply. Shearing Shed Camping AreaThe Shearing Shed Camping and Function area is at the main homestead and has been set up for day use by groups and as a camp kitchen. Facilities include fridge, sink, urn, barbecue, rainwater supply, tables and seating and ceiling fans. There is also a fabulous partly sheltered deck area for relaxing outside. Slide projector, overhead projector, 60 chairs and microphone are all available for hire. Adjacent to the Shed is an ablution block with three toilets and two hot showers. Uncle John'sUncle John's is a three roomed unit with sleeping, living and kitchen area and a separate bathroom and laundry. Facilities include air conditioning, carport, small verandah and basic kitchen facilities. It is located at the main homestead and is ten minute walk from the protected Murchison River. Uncle John's is close to the Shearing Shed barbecue area. | |
