Bill Sewell Complex

The magnificent Bill Sewell Complex was originally built in 1884 as the Victoria District Hospital. This hospital served the region as both a hospital and nurses training school until 1966 when the new Geraldton Regional Hospital was built.

From 1967 until 1984 the Prisons Department took over the building and utilised it as a Regional Prison.

This historic site was restored due to a government grant of $1.2 million and, on 7 May 1988, it was re-opened as the Bill Sewell Complex.
