Dongara Heritage Trail

The Dongara Heritage Trail is a pleasant one hour self guided walk through the charming town of Dongara taking in 17 points of interest. Meander along the trail as it winds through this charming historic town and view the magnificent old buildings dating back to the late 1800s.

Start the tour with a visit to the Royal Steam Flour Mill on the outskirts of the town. Wander through the beautiful gardens and magnificent Russ Cottage to see how the original settlers would have lived. Be charmed by the architecture of Priory Lodge and learn about the fascinating history of the Old Police Station and Court House.

You will find a useful trail map and history of the buildings at the tourist centre which forms part of the tour as it is housed in the Old Police Station. Situated in Dongara just four hours drive north of Perth, the Dongara Heritage Trail provides a captivating insight into the beautifully preserved farming town.
