One Mile Jetty
One Mile Jetty in Carnarvon is the longest jetty in the northwest of the state. It is a great spot for fishing for Mulloway and Tailor, where you can enjoy fishing in the deep water without the need for a boat! Walk along its 1493 meter length, and then catch the Coffee Pot train back. Enjoy a magnificent sunset over the water and soak up the history of this unique structure.
It was used in the early 1900s as a deep sea port to transport local produce from the ships into the town. Steam and diesel powered wagons were used to transport the goods.
Forming part of the Carnarvon Heritage Precinct you can catch a ride on the Kimberley Steam Locomotive from the town centre to the precinct and listen to the excellent audio commentary explaining the history of the port. Carnarvon is a ten hour drive north of Perth.
