Sir John Forrest Memorial

Sir John Forrest (1847-1918) was a surveyor who made several expeditions into the centre of Australia.

Together with his brother, they became the best known explorers in Western Australia.

In 1890, John Forrest became the first Premier of Western Australia.

A memorial was built to in central Geraldton to commemorate Sir John Forrest who set out from Geraldton to travel overland to Adelaide in 1874.
