Wesley Church

The historic Wesley Church is a fine example of the quality construction work carried out by convicts in the Greenough region in the late 1800s. Built in 1870 the church is due to undergo restoration in the near future. Wander around the grounds and be sure to take a few photographs of the lovely building.

Wesley Church is part of the Greenough/Walkaway Heritage Trail which features 36 historic buildings including the Pioneer Cemetery, the Hampton Arms Inn and Gray’s Store which was also built by convicts in the 1860s. Due to the large number of historic buildings, allow a day to explore the best preserved nineteenth century town of Greenough.

Greenough is a four hour drive north of Perth and just 15 minutes drive south of Geraldton. The coastal town of Geraldton offers a plethora of attractions including the maritime museum, fishing trips to the Abrolhos Islands, windsurfing and the iconic Point Moore Lighthouse. If you wish to continue exploring historic buildings, Geraldton is also home to an array of magnificent buildings with historical significance.
