Ningaloo Marine Park
For swimming, diving and snorkelling at one of the world's most pristine reefs head to Ningaloo Marine Park near the towns of Coral Bay and Exmouth along Western Australia's north coast.
One of its star attractions is Ningaloo Reef which is one of the few places on earth where you can swim with the world's biggest fish, the Whaleshark.
It's also one of the planet's most accessible reefs - in parts just a short paddle from shore.
In Ningaloo Marine Park's emerald lagoons you can swim alongside rare species of turtles, manta rays and dugong. Spend some time here and pods of wild dolphins and migrating humpback whales will seem part of the everyday.
Not surprisingly, the fishing in this pristine slice of the world is top-notch, tuna, marlin and sail fish some of the prized catches.
There are plenty of opportunities to experience Ningaloo Marine Park - bring your own snorkelling gear and enjoy a drift snorkel along the beach, or sign up for a fishing charter, glass-bottom boat tour, Whaleshark swimming trip, or whale watching tour from Coral Bay or Exmouth.
Ningaloo Marine Park is a two and a half hour flight from Perth to Learmonth Airport, or from Perth in two days.
