Hopes Hill

Hopes Hill was one of the first gold mines in the Southern Cross area commencing in 1888.

It is a large open cut mine. The name derives from the "Hope" the miners had for this mine.

The remains of Corinthian mine (open cut) and other old mine sites are just a few kilometres further north.
