The Gaol Tree

The Gaol Tree is located in Hunt Street, over the old railway bridge. Before any gaols were built in Coolgardie, prisoners were chained to the tree to await their trial. It is an indicator as to the speed with which this wild town started. Replica leg irons are attached to the tree today.
