Tommy Windich's Grave
Situated in the Port Authority Park on Wireless Hill is the grave of John Forrest's Aboriginal tracker and faithful friend Tommy Windich.
Tommy accompanied John Forrest on four expeditions. At his death in 1876 John Forrest was recorded as saying "his name is almost a household word in this colony. I feel that I have lost an old and well tried companion and friend."
The original headstone is in the safe keeping of the local museum.
