Ben Priors Open Air Museum
An open air machinery museum located in central Bayley Street, this collection was started by Ben Prior in 1961 and is perhaps one of the most unusual museums in Australia.
Dedicated to Western Australia's early explorers and the pioneers of the goldfields it features the machinery, boilers and mining equipment used in the region at the turn of the century and an assortment of relics from Coolgardie's boom years.
The large wagons (used to transport the more fortunate prospectors from southern cross), and statues of explorers are favourites with children.
