Paynes Find Gold Battery Museum houses the only working Gold Battery remaining in Western Australia. Witness the gold crushing plant in action and explore the display centre next door to learn about the gold mining process in the early 1900s. Look through the wide range of mining and farming relics and artifacts on display and learn about their significance to the region.
A visit to Paynes Find will put you at the start of the four day self drive Miners Pathway to Mount Magnet. See abandoned mineshafts, explore exquisite native bushland on foot making use of one of many heritage walk trails and discover a variety of attractions at the many stops along the way.
It is worth noting that some of the tracks are only suitable for high clearance four-wheel drives. A useful guide for the tour can be collected from the tourist centre before setting off. Paynes Find is a four hour drive north of Perth.
