The Barramundi Moon Experience is located at Maddar. It's here where you will be provided with basic but comfortable accommodation, with wood fire cooking facitlities and utensils. Community members offer personalised activities and experiences to suit your needs. We cater to small numbers only to ensure your experience is personalised.
Maddarr has developed visitor packages ranging from day visits with activities through to three day/ two night experiences. These versatile packages provide an opportunity for a personalised cultural experience, sharing the customs and beliefs of traditional Aboriginal lifestyle, and the history and heritage of the area. Escorted daily activities can include beach or bush walks, reef exploration and fishing.
The Barramundi Moon Experience is located 150 kilometres north of Broome. Access to Maddarr is restricted to pre arranged bookings. You will need to bring food and linen, walking shoes, a hat, insect repellent, and suitable clothing. Make sure you bring sun cream.
The days will normally be warm to hot but nights can be cool. The community has good quality water but you may wish to bring your own drinking water.

Bush Camp with 3 Day/2 Night TourAccommodation comprises of simple beach shelters with fold out camp beds. There is an open air conference centre catering to small groups of up to 20 people. Come and enjoy this cultural experience with a local family group. The comfortable camp site is located in a small community, Maddarr, 190 kilometres north of Broome on the Dampier Peninsula. Enjoy spectacular views over King Sound. Access to Maddarr is restricted to prearranged bookings. Visitors cannot make their way into the community unannounced. Maddarr can cater for special interest groups and conferences with its low key facilities. Bring your own linen, pillows and food. Due to the remoteness of the location and significance of sites in the surrounding area, all walks require the participation of local guides. Choose from the following guided tours: Cliff Walk - easy walk, Cave Walk - medium walk, Reef Walk - medium to difficult walk , Mudcrab Creek Walk - big adventure. | |
