Chichester Range Camel Trail
The Chichester Range Camel Trail follows parts of the old camel road through the picturesque Millstream-Chichester National Park. Walk along the three hour heritage trail and be captivated by the magnificent views of the ranges from the peak of Mount Herbert.
Follow the informative plaques along the trail which reveal details about various historic sites along the way. End the hike at the spectacular Python’s Pool where a rewarding swim awaits you. This permanent watering hole at the base of the escarpment is a perfect place to recover from the long walk.
Due to the rugged countryside and sandy trail, sturdy footwear is recommended along with plenty of drinking water. You will need to organise transportation to collect you from Python’s Pool, or set out early in the morning to allow sufficient time to return back to the start.
The Chichester Range Camel Trail is just under two hours drive from Roebourne and three hours from Karratha. Flights from Perth to Karratha take two hours.
