The Gut
The Gut is a natural gap in the Cambridge Gulf, narrowing to approximately 150 metres. On the south west side of The Gut, the gulf again opens out to its full width to receive the Pentecost and Durack Rivers and numerous creeks.
The tidal flow throughout The Gut is turbulent causing dangerous rips and whirlpools to occur. The Gut is only accessible by high powered boat except during slack water and there is an all weather boat ramp at the Wyndham Port.
