Kimberley Birdwatching Tours

Kimberley Birdwatching Pty Ltd is owner/operated by George Swann. George is one of the Kimberley’s most experienced ornithological and naturalist guide and commenced operating in this region in 1993. He offers a guiding service, charters for single or group bookings, and has set itineraries to numerous locations within the Kimberley. Trips can be tailored to suit the individual’s needs and he takes a minimum of two people and maximum of six. By special arrangements group bookings of up to 10 people. His tours range from two hours to 21 days.

Kimberley Birdwatching operates throughout the year with longer overnight trips from April through to December. Full day trips to a number of exciting locations around Broome including Roebuck Bay and Plains offer visiting birders an opportunity to take advantage of George’s extensive local knowledge. For the budget minded, three hour Shorebirds Tours to Roebuck Bay and a five hour Broome Environs tour including Broome’s mangrove birds are excellent value for money. George also arranges charter trips to seabird breeding islands on the Kimberley Coast including Ashmore Reef, Adele Island and Lacepede Islands.

Camping Tour

You will note that most of our trips are land based camping tours, using bush camps (no amenities) and camps that have basic amenities. It is important to note that camping trips are not recommended for the fastidious. Camps are remote, sometimes with a limited use of water and the obvious lack of toilet facilities. Camping trips have the advantage of exploring remote areas and being in the middle of good birding areas early in the morning and evening when birds are most active.
