Broome Town TourThis fantastic tour offers a fully comprehensive one and three quarter hour tour which will take you on a journey past numerous locations throughout Broome including Cable Beach, new tourism developments and the Old Courthouse. The journey continues onto Chinatown, the home to Streeters Jetty, Pearlers Row, Monuments to the Pioneers of the Cultured Pearling industry and the Hard-hat divers of Broome, Sun Pictures, the oldest operating movie theatre in the world, the notorious Sheba Lane and the Old Broome Lock Up. Take in the views of Roebuck Bay, the location of the flying boat wrecks, Kennedy Hill with stunning views into Dampier Creek and finally through to Demco Drive, McAlpine House and the Japanese Cemetery which is the final resting place for over 900 Japanese pearl divers. A stop will be made at the Japanese Cemetery. Excellent live commentary is provided throughout the tour and the commentary will include extensive information about the history of Broome, the seasons, climate and geographical location of Broome, diverse local flora (some of which are unique to Broome) and the magic of Roebuck Bay. | |
